3 And God said, Let there be light; and there was light.
6 And God said, Let there be a firmament [the expanse of the sky] in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters [below] from the waters [above].
Everything that God created, he created it with the power of His spoken Word.
There is power in the Voice of the Word.
Psalms 103:20 Bless (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord, you His angels, you mighty ones who do His commandments, hearkening to the voice of His word.
This verse shows us that the Word has a voice. Angels listen to the VOICE of the Word. If a word does not have a voice, then it lack the power to create and be heard. We “hear” the voice speaking words.
God spoke things into creation, but not all things did He create with the power of his word. That might come as a surprise to you, but let’s look at the word.
26 God said, Let Us [Father, Son, and Holy Spirit] make mankind in Our image, after Our likeness, and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the [tame] beasts, and over all of the earth, and over everything that creeps upon the earth.
27 So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them.
But when it came to man, God went one step further, He did not just SPEAK the Word and create man, He created him with his own hands.
God created Adam in His own image and likeness. Adam must have had some kind of covering that did not allow him to see he was naked until he fell and lost dominion.
11 But let all those who take refuge and put their trust in You rejoice; let them ever sing and shout for joy, because You make a covering over them and defend them; let those also who love Your name be joyful in You and be in high spirits.
12 For You, Lord, will bless the [uncompromisingly] righteous [him who is upright and in right standing with You]; as with a shield You will surround him with goodwill (pleasure and favor).
Doesn’t these two verses speak about a covering that the righteous have? Adam was righteous when God created him, he had a covering of sorts upon him. He was royalty!
8 And the Lord God planted a garden toward the east, in Eden [delight]; and there He put the man whom He had formed (framed, constituted).
10 Now a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from there it divided and became four [river] heads.
11 The first is named Pishon; it is the one flowing around the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold.
12 The gold of that land is of high quality; bdellium (pearl?) and onyx stone are there.
The first thing God showed Adam was the garden, and then he proceeded to show him where he could get pure gold, pearl and onyx. Gold signifies DIVINITY
PEARLS – Revelation 21:21
21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls, each separate gate being built of one solid pearl. And the main street (the broadway) of the city was of gold as pure and translucent as glass.
ONYX – Exodus 25:7
7 Onyx stones, and stones for setting in the ephod and in the breastplate.
Why would God show Adam these things if he didn’t intend for him to rule and reign?
God created Adam in His image and likeness because he wanted him to rule. When I see a policeman in uniform I understand he has authority. As children when we saw our father or mother, we recognized them as our parents and everyone around recognized and acknowledged them as our parents and we as their children.
God created Adam in His image and likeness so that every creature would see and recognize that Adam was the son of God.
God was busy training Adam to walk in the authority of God himself and that is why he brought the animals to him to be named.
God put the same authority and creative power in Adam’s voice, whatever Adam called the animals, they were so.
In fact God formed all the animals out of the ground, just like he did when he created Adam. Imagine Adam sitting and watching the master craftsman at work making mud forms of animals and then God telling Adam to call it into existence.
19 And out of the ground the Lord God formed every [wild] beast and living creature of the field and every bird of the air and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them; and whatever Adam called every living creature, that was its name.
20 And Adam gave names to all the livestock and to the birds of the air and to every [wild] beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found a helper meet (suitable, adapted, complementary) for him.
Adam was created unique in that he did not need any special gifting to hear God speak.
He was complete, he could hear God speak all the time. He did not need to start worshipping to feel God’s presence. He was God’s son, in His image and likeness.
Adam lost his covering, dominion and image when he disobeyed God.
8 And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.
9 But the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, Where are you?
10 He said, I heard the sound of You [walking] in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.
11 And He said, Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?
Down through the years, it’s now time for God to create Sons again, but this time it’s through Himself and not dust.
1 IN THE beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was GodHimself.
2 He was present originally with God.
3 All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him was not even one thing made that has come into being.
4 In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men.
5 And the Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it [put it out or absorbed it or appropriated it, and is unreceptive to it].
This is like a re-enactment of creation once again.
12 But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name—
1 Peter 1:23
23 You have been regenerated (born again), not from a mortalorigin (seed, sperm), but from one that is immortal by the ever living and lasting Word of God.
19 For [even the whole] creation (all nature) waits expectantly and longs earnestly for God’s sons to be made known [waits for the revealing, the disclosing of their sonship].
20 For the creation (nature) was subjected tofrailty (to futility, condemned to frustration), not because of some intentional fault on its part, but by the will of Him Who so subjected it—[yet] with the hope
21 That nature (creation) itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and corruption [and gain an entrance] into the glorious freedom of God’s children.
22 We know that the whole creation [of irrational creatures] has been moaning together in the pains of labor until now.
23 And not only the creation, but we ourselves too, who have and enjoy the firstfruits of the [Holy] Spirit [a foretaste of the blissful things to come] groan inwardly as we wait for the redemption of our bodies [from sensuality and the grave, which will reveal] our adoption (our manifestation as God’s sons).
We are born into the kingdom of God through Jesus. The anointing of the Christ is upon the church, the body of Christ. Just like God created Adam to reign, but unfortunately he couldn’t fulfill his calling, in the same way, through Christ we are created to reign and rule.
Creation is waiting for the manifestation of the Sons of God.
Rise up Sons of God!
